"Overnight" induction?

Question

I have my induction scheduled for tomorrow (holy crap!) starting at 8:30 pm. After we get all checked in and set up they will insert the cervidil and we (my husband and I) will go to sleep. In the morning hopefully I will be dilated enough for them to break my water and then my body will take over labor from there.

Has anyone had this kind of induction? How did it go?

Terrible! Mine was started at midnight and I had the foley balloon inserted then I was supposed to sleep. I went into labor. Which stopped when the balloon got me to 4 cm and was removed and I did not sleep at all. Thank goodness I slept at home from 8-10 pm but I will never do it this way again if I must be induced. Over all I did have a pretty uneventful and successful delivery in just 13 hours without pain meds but going in at night was really rough. Good luck!

I had this induction with both of my boys. Everything went well for me. My first son I was contacting starting at 11pm (with the cervidil in place) at 8am they broke my water. I got an epidural at noon and he arrived at 6:28pm. They also gave me pitocin 2 hours after the epidural. My second son was a breeze! Cervidil was put in around midnight (it was Christmas night lol) doctor broke my water at 9am and started a little pitocin then. Got an epidural about 10:30am and he was boring by 12:37pm. I  pray yours is as easy as mine were!  Especially my second one! If all labors could be like his I would be a surrogate. Good luck to ya!

Yes one pill in and 30mins later I got up to pee before going to bed for the night and my water broke on its own 😂 lol definitely didn't get any sleep that night but so worth it!
