Potty training HELP!!!

P

My son is 3 years old and my husband and I are having a really hard time potty training him.

Last year at this time, he started peeing in the toilet, but we moved a few months after to a completely new state and had to start the process over.

Now, he is peeing in the potty on a regular basis, but does have a few accidents. The only thing he REFUSES to do is poop in the toilet.

He tried it on his own a few weeks ago and didn't tell us. He got poop everywhere! His hands, on the toilet, the door handle, the floor. Literally everywhere!

Finally we got him to poop because we made him sit on the toilet a few minutes before bed and we rewarded him with a toy. Now though, we're back to him pooping in his underwear.

We got him a little toilet, but he won't use it. It took away pull ups because he'll just pee in those. Toys and snacks don't seem to be working and we don't spank. I've tried taking away tv time and video game time, but nothing is working!

I need suggestions on what to do. I really need him potty trained by September. That's when he starts preschool.

Thanks so much for all your input!
