Cervical Position Confusion

So I am 9dpo and around days 3-4 my position was low, firm, closed. Yesterday and today, it has still been low but much softer and feels much more open. I had my fertile CM already so I know I already ovulated and I am having Pre-Period symptoms. I am still having quite a bit of CM and its usually creamy. I'm just confused as to why I have not dried up yet and why my cervix feels soft and open if I'm supposed to start my period soon?
