haven't had my period in 2 months.

So, in February I went to my doctor to see why my period was so irregular. It was still coming every month, but it would be at weird times for 2 or 3 days which is not normal for me at all. She put me on birth control but she told me not to take one until the Sunday after my period started. So I waited and waited for my period to come. But it never came so I just started taking them anyways. But now I haven't had had my period since January 27th. I know I'm not pregnant, so what could be wrong?
