new period pains 🤔 (long IUD nightmare)
Ok so, I'm 23 and I decided to get mirena November of 2015. The doc said I would have some cramping for a few days after the procedure. In all my life of having a menstrual cycle I'd never had cramps before so I had no idea what they felt like. Well they were painful to say the least but the second week of having the iud they got so much more worse and frequent. I called the doc to see if that was normal and of course she told me it was but if it got too bad to come back in. Well it got way worse really quick. That night the cramps began to feel unbearable so I went to the closest emergency room where I fainted from the pain and they treated me like it was no big deal. So my mom being a super nurse lol came and got me and took me to a hospital that delivers babies, where they gave me an ultrasound but not the cute one they just rub on your belly when your pregnant, this thing went inside me 😣. The arm of the iud had pierced my uterus and had to be removed immediately before it went through my uterine wall. The "cramps" were really my uterus contracting to get rid of a foreign object. Worst pain ever! But now all this time has passed and I still get bad cramps during my period, that just knock me down completely. And I never had this problem until I got the iud! I'm not sure what to do to get the doctors to understand that the ibuprofen they prescribed and the extra strength Tylenol, are just not enough for this pain, and is this normal? It's been over a year and I still get flashbacks every time I get a cramp! Not to mention it's weird but the cramps make me want to vomit? Is that normal for women who've always had them?
