Should I distress these chairs?

I was originally planning on distressing my chairs after they are painted but after seeing how good it looks painted I was thinking maybe I should just leave them as is? What do you think?

How do you feel about rubbing some light stain in the carvings on back of the chair? It might give it some rustic charm. If you dont like it you could always repaint it white.
