Shitty mom?

Is separation anxiety at 5 months possible? My baby cries when I leave the room or have some else hold her. It's exhausting because all she wants to do is being held. She doesn't like being put down. Yes, I feel like a shitty mom for complaining, but I can't get anything done. Even use the toilet without her scream in the next room

This is totally normal, they go through a 'relationship' leap from 24-29 weeks where they understand that they can be left, cry and become very fussy and clingy to Mom. They also become shy around other people and dont like to be held unless it is by you! There is a book called 'The Wonder Weeks' which tells you about each leap, what to expect and also gives you age appropriate activities to do which helps with the skills that they are developing at that time. There is the app which is free, it makes you feel more sane when baby is being difficult 😊

My son has been the same way.  He just turned 5 months old.  I had a chit chat with him then over the weekend I got my son to let dad feed him and get some father/son/brother time in.  He still had moments where he wanted me but realized that dad can do certain things and so can his brother.

My daughter has been that was since 3 months. She stopped going to grandma's and she wouldn't even let dad hold her without screaming. It took a month for her to start going back to dad (and she still cries if it's for more than an hour) and she will let the grandmothers hold her but only for 10 min and I have to be next to them. It's awful and it makes me feel like an awful mother.

You're not a bad mom. My lo also does this very often. I set her baby seat in the bathroom so she can be with me while I pee. Lol It's a nice tool but annoying to move around the house with you. Lately she even gets upset about that. I just use her chair and baby carrier as much as possible to keep her close.

Mine (5 months) has to be able to see me. The moment I walk out of her vision, she starts screaming/crying then stops the moment I walk back into her field of sight.

Same exact thing at my house. If I'm not in my daughters face making noise she's pissed!!
