Hot under the collar

I'm 20 yrs old and as of the entire last month and week I have been getting randomly hot in my upper body (torso, neck, arms and head.) I don't feel sick and haven't felt like it. I'm not pregnant. Is this even a female thing? Does anyone know what it implies?
