I Can't Remember?

Question

Is it weird that I can't remember when I started my period? I have no recollection of it at all. I'm sure I 
asked my mom for some pads and she set me up, but that's just cause that would make sense... and I have no idea what age I was. I guess it just wasn't a memorable event for me. Anyone else not remember?

I was 13. I remember having a brownish color in my discharge the night before and didnt think much about it. The next morning there was a lot more and it hit me that it was my period. Terrified out of my mind i quietly told my big sister bc i didnt want anyone to know, and she was like, "WHAT? WHAT DID YOU SAY? I CANT HEAR YOU. SPEAK UP."
I proceeded to sob and attempt to tell her i got my period and she laughed at me that it was just my period and not something worse and thought i was being stupid for being scared (not gonna lie, i was being a weenie. I grew up in a house full of women) but she felt bad i was crying about it and gave me a pad. Then i proceeded to cry in my room bc i wasnt a child anymore. Ahh hormones.
After that i had brain surgery while i was on my period. It was a struggle trying to deal with my first major surgery, the puking from anesthesia and on top of that my period. My period went away for a few months and was severely disappointed when it came back. I was hoping my period was a fluke or that i wouldnt get it every month after that but i did.

I was 12. At school lol I don't remember when though like I just remember going to pee. Wiping and there was blood so I put toilet paper in my undies so I wouldn't bleed thru and had to ask my teacher for a pad (she was super cool about the whole thing lmao ) and she gave it to me all quietly and I went and put the pad on. Had to go home and as my step mom if she could take me to pick out some pads cause tampons scared me at the time lol so I went and got some and it was alright cause everyone was so chill about it
