Sometimes I feel like my husband sees me more as a mommy then a wife.  I fear that has a lot to do with the relationship he has with his mother. She was not a great mom to him and I feel sometimes I suffer the consequences.

Definitely. My ex husband's mother put him in the foster care system when he was 8 yrs old.  As a result, he had some serious abandonment issues and a lot of insecurities. She was young and had three kids by that time and he was the oldest. She tried to make it seem like she did it because she couldn't take care of three kids, but after she put him in foster care, she went on to have three MORE babies. Anyway it really impacted our marriage negatively.  When we first got together he tried to make it seem like his life growing up was like the Brady Bunch. It wasn't until after we were married that I learned the truth.

It did, because that umbilical cord was still attached pretty bad. But luckily he saw where I was coming from and now it isn't that bad at all!
