So I have been on depo for over 2 years now. When I first started, I would skip periods for 2 months, then get my period a week before I was due for the shot. As soon as I would get it, it would stop. As I have continued this form of birth control, I have noticed that the periods started sooner and lasted longer. I am headed in for my 10th shot next month and I started spotting today, meaning a heavy period is coming in the next few days. Last shot cycle, I bled for almost 6 weeks and it was much too heavy for a woman of my stature, so I am concerned. Periods have become a major dread because they are severely painful (almost crippling) due to some other medical issues. Has anyone else experienced this? Is it normal? What can I do to help? And should I stop taking the shot?
