spit as lubricant and vaginal problems

ok, this is kinda gross, but do any of you use spit as a lubricant? me and my bf do (we don't live together so we have sex maybe once a week), because I'm not wet enough. but the issue is that I've had really bad itching and burning sensation in my vagina for about 4-5 months now. I saw a gyno and she did a test and gave me anti-biotics orally and vaginal suppositories. I got better, but then te next month after my period, the problems started again. maybe my bf should have gotten some medicine too? idk. I know I should see a doctor, but just wanted to ask if any of you use spit and if you've ever had any problems
