Dental Care
So I ran straight into the problem of dental care in the US this week. I needed an emergency root canal on an abcessed tooth, and I don't have dental insurance. I have not had dental insurance since I was 18, but I tried to patchwork together care the best I could by going to get cleanings at the hygienist school, being a test patient at a dental school. But that wasn't enough, and I needed this procedure. It cost $3,000, had to be paid immediately, and they would have turned me away if I didn't qualify for financing. As it is, I'm going to be making huge payments that I can't afford for years to pay for a necessary procedure.
The dental care system in the United States is broken. What do you think needs to be changed to fix the system?
