Anyone taking Topomax? Bad side effects?

I just got prescribed to topomax for back pain today but haven't taken it yet because I'm afraid of the possible side effects.

I've read that memory loss, hair loss, cognitive impairment, dizziness, tingly hands and feet, anxiety, depression, and even sudden death can occur when taking this medication. Maybe I'm being crazy paranoid but I just do not want to risk any of this happening, I think I'd rather deal with the back pain.

Is anyone on here prescribed to this? If so what are your side effects and would you recommend taking this drug?

I take it for chronic headache side affects I have are tingling in my hands and feet, fizzy drinks taste disgusting and height does weight loss. But it's been a god send with the chronic headache I have to tweek my dosage every so often.

I took it for migraines and the only thing I had was soda tasted flat! A little bit of weight loss but nothing extreme. It does have big effects on a fetus so if you're TTC tell your doctor ASAP

I took it for 8 years and never had any problems.

I've never heard of it being taken for back pain... I'm prescribed it for my migraines. I haven't had any bad side effects for it. I've lost a little weight but thats about it and I've been on it for about 3 years.

Anyone taking Topomax? Bad side effects?
