I got engaged December 9th 2016 and wanted the wedding date to be oct 20. Too many people had an issue with it so we had to move it to sept 23. My fiancés parents were so controlling it was not fun anymore. His mother kept saying "my wedding" like it was hers. Making her own decisions and inviting only her friends. So we decided to change the date to April 22nd (yes, 10 days away). It is the same day my wedding shower was. We told our guests it is a casual back yard wedding. Jeans and a button up while women wear a dress and bring jeans. No gifts and no money. 

Most of the people coming are excited we broke free from his parents and my sister (maid of honor) and brother (walking me down the aisle) refuse to come because they can't call out of their McDonalds jobs. They are calling me crazy and rediculous for changing dates so close. But they were already coming to the shower that they had a 2 month notice for!

Am I crazy for doing this? I feel guilty as hell but I feel like I had to do what I had to do to get married our way. (Plus I start my new job on the 24 and have to go away for 2 months fr training then I eat my own store. So I would have no time to plan a wedding).
