FASFA?? PLEASE HELP!

My mom did not claim me on her taxes this year. Im concern that when i fill my fafsa, i will not recieve any help at all. My mom doesnt help me with anything and i dont live with her. Please help!!!

If you can't go off your moms income, you'd have to go off your own. Which I'm assuming is less than your moms! So if anything, you'd get more financial aid, not less! But I'd talk to your schools financial aid office to be sure!

If you're under 26 they go off your parents incomes even if you live on your own. Unless you get married. I live with my fiancée and our son but I don't get financial aid because they go off my dads income😡 I'm about to be 21. It doesn't matter if she claims you or not they still have to go off her income. It's the most annoying thing ever!

Unfortunately unless you qualify as independent, your parents will have to give their information. There's no way around that. You may be able to still qualify for scholarships if you can't convince them to cooperate. Occasionally schools will approve you as independent for other reasons, but it's super rare and has to be an extreme case... parents not cooperating does not count as a reason.

Are you filing your fasfa for 2017/2018 because this is still 2016/2017 and they will be using last yrs return to determine your amount of aid but it's best to speak to the financial aid advisor
