You can't get pregnant without ovulating. You can get pregnant having sex up to 5 days before ovulation, and up to 12 hours after ovulation, i.e. your fertile window.

You can't get pregnant without ovulating.  That's how the egg matures to get fertilized.  Sperm lives 3-7 days. So technically 7 days after sex you can get pregnant if you are ovulating that day and the sperm has been in your uterus waiting.  But no you have to ovulate to get pregnant.
