Can heterosexual people be friends of opposite sex 100% no feelings?

My mom and I disagree.. I don't think people can be friends for long periods of time without developing feelings for the other.. my mom says yes they can. I have NEVER met anyone that stayed just friends (no feelings).  My hubby and I were together as kids.. went separate ways years later met again and were yes 100% friends. Like I had 0 feelings. Until one day bam I looked at him and was like wait... you're amazing. I know that's one case but honestly who stayed just friends no feelings at all????? I'm really curious

Yes it's totally possible. I've got male friends that are and will always be just that, friends.

It's always been my experience that feelings develope from one or both people. My husband's friend has a girlfriend he's been with her for like 10 years or something. They were all young when their relationship started. They all 3 hung out a lot and she definitely had feelings for my husband. I still think she does. It was so obvious that anyone who was around them could tell she was in love with my husband.

It depends. I have one guy that I've known since childhood that I never think of that way. We still talk and are friends but now that I'm married it's not that often. When I was single I couldn't have just guy friends. It always turned into them trying to have sex with me. Not really having feelings. Just wanted to be able to hang out and hookup which wasn't my scene so I went through guy friends fast.
