Waiting for a referral

We have been trying for over 2 years now with no luck. Tests show that my husband has poor sperm motility and we have been referred to a local infertility clinic which takes up to 12 weeks for an appointment (longest 12 weeks ever). Has anyone had a similar experience that can shed some light about what happens following our first appointment? Does it take a while for more test before actually being put forward for any treatments? If so how long did it all take? Struggling with all the waiting 😕
