How to be more "submissive" to my man..
I've grew up basically learning a lot on my own, I didn't get much love from my mom and I had to figure out men and a bunch of other things on my own because my dad was non existent and my stepfather wasn't shit either..but I've always loved and admired love..the thought of being with a good man and having a healthy relationship and family, im finally with the guy I want to spend the rest of my life with but there's this issue... he says I'm so used to being independent that it's hard for me to submit... and I personally think I try to make him feel like a man and follow his lead and things like that but I can admit that it's very hard for me to fully have someone take over lol and I try but I guess I'm not trying hard enough because it's still an issue... how do I fix this? What can I do to be more submissive how can I change? I really don't mean to be this way but I've been like this for so long and I want to give him my all and give him myself as a woman and I want him to feel like the man that he is, I think I do but obviously not if there's still a issue..what can I do any suggestions I will take !!

I say be proud of your independence and value yourself and your partner as equals. But then, I don't believe that women should be submissive as some sort of natural construct--it's a societal and cultural construct created by men for their own advantage in maintaining power and control. So...I say be yourself and find a man who loves you for you because trust me, they do exist---lots of men value and seek an equal partner.

You shouldn't change yourself for him. If it was something fun in the bedroom, that's one thing. I am in no way submissive in everyday life and would roll my eyes and tell him my opinion and wants/needs are just important as his. We make decisions together...sometimes he gets what he wants and sometimes I get what I want. A lot of times we eventfully see it the other's way. I work for my money and there is absolutely no reason I should feel the need to let him have more say in my life than I do. To each their own...but find out what he wants you to be more submissive about if you really are going to change yourself for him. Be careful, though. Don't let him start to manipulate you. This just sounds like manipulative behavior to me.

I said obey in my vows. I am fiercely independent but you can be "submissive" and independent. My and my husband talked about it and decided that we felt submission would mean we talk about big decisions but he would have the final say (when it's gone wrong I've been relieved it's his decision 😜) it doesn't mean you do everything he says. The bible says men listen to the wise council of you wife so we aren't called to be door mats but we are called to trust them to make the right decision for your family. If you are with the right man he will not try to control you but find the best route for your family.

You should be equal partners. There is no reason to be "submissive" other than to let someone have control over you, your body and baby. That's ridiculous and abusive. I'm independent as well. I had to learn how to have a partner because I had never had close relationships either. I'd seriously laugh my husband out of the room if this was even suggested. Instead of being submissive, try compromising and having conversations. If he can't work with you, it's not worth it. No woman needs to live under control of a man. Good luck to you.
