pains in early pregnancy, what is normal?

So last night I had pains, sort of cramp but then some pains that weren't like cramps but not exactly sharp either. Lasting for about an hour/two in my stomach. I've had no bleeding or any other symptoms and I'm around 5 weeks pregnant, and this is my second baby. is this normal and just my body preparing for a baby?

I'm calling the midwife in the morning as its bank holiday in the uk and they are closed today.

Its normal :) I have had it since I found out at 3wks4days. Its your uterus stretching and preparing. provided it is not severe, accompanied by spotting, or one sided cramps nothing to worry about but still check with your midwife if you need peace of mind :) I checked with my doctors nurse and she helped me feel better

It sounds like gas pains, completely normal

I have been getting terrible wind pains.. sounds gross but the only thing that helps is a little walk to make me burp or fart.. this is my 5th pregnancy. I don't remember it being so bad with the others.. at least the morning sickness is starting to ease. I will never dismiss my baby's wind pains as 'just wind pains' after this.. 😉
