When can i start stocking up?

So I'm 17w3d and I'm just wondering, when is a good time to start stocking up on necessities to help with easing in to having a newborn? We plan on using newborn disposable diapers until the baby Gaines enough weight and then switching to cloth. Would now be a good time to start stocking up on either?

We already have a crib and dresser set because my parents kept mine in fantastic condition so we don't have to worry about that. But what about other things? When should we start buying things ourselves and when should we start our baby registry?

You can always start to buy diapers in any sizes, wipes, creams for diaper rash, bath wash and lotions that what I did once I hit my third trimester. I would get one or two things a week. Look for coupons too

I wanted to start stocking up and constantly went back and forth on if I should or not because I was worried well what if I get all these diapers and then my baby can't use them. Or what if I buy all this formula and he needs a different kind. Usually stores though will allow you to exchange the diapers as long as the box isn't opened. I ended up waiting until after my baby shower to see what I got diaper wise so I didn't end up with way to many of one size. And then after that we bought a few more packs of sizes we didn't get much of. I started my registry at 20 weeks after finding out the gender.

Once you find out the gender you can start registering. I would only buy the things you don't expect to get as gifts such as a car seat or stroller. Lots of people will buy you diapers and wipes and the little things. Wait to buy that stuff until after the shower so you know where you stand. Do not register for clothes until a week before the shower because stores rotate clothes with seasons and the clothes you register for now likely won't be there at the time of the shower.

anytime you want!! If you want to go out and buy everything now then by all means do it! A lot of people will say that you risk the chance of getting duplicates at your shower but there may be some things you want multiple of. For example we already have a pack and play and a swing but I know that my parents will want one at their house so if we get duplicates that would be great. Plus you could always register for larger-sized clothing or even just diapers and wipes in all sizes because I have a feeling we will never have enough of those haha

I agree wait till after your shower to see about diaper and wipes. We had around 25 people show for my shower last week and every single person brought a pack of diapers and wipes. We seriously won't have to buy any of that till he is probably 4 months old! We ended up getting so much and only needed to buy the bigger items. Stroller/car seat and bassinet. I would go ahead and start registering now. That way you can add a few things at a time as you think of them and your not rushing to finish before the shower.
