I hate my life! Every time the weather changes I always get a cold sore. I have engagement photos in 5 days. Any ideas on how to get rid of them before then? HELP!!!

So this is pretty hardcore, but it works every time for me. Especially since I have fever blisters as well once in awhile. I usually wet my cold sore, and put sea salt or even table salt, on the sore. It dries out the liquid, and heals over the sore with a scab. Healing time is a few days instead of a week. Oh my gosh does it sting! But it's very, very effective. Also, if you have extra money laying around, Abreva works great.

I put cold sore cream on once or twice, then I dry it out with a tissue, 
If it has moisture it will keep growing and won't go away, 
I know it's gross but once it's dry enough I take off all the infected skin 
And it goes away so quickly

Minty toothpaste!! I know it sucks. I feel your pain. After that, start taking lysine every single day. It's a pill. It's good for your hair and nails BUT it keeps you from getting cold sores. I used to get them ALL THE TIME and I haven't had one in forever. But you have to take it everyday. It's in the vitamin section at a lot of grocery stores, Wal-Mart, etc. Good luck, lady!

I get them all the time when weather changes . I peal the top layer of skin off like  where it bubbles up and put salt on mine dries it right up for me. Yes it hurts but whatever works I'll do lol

Take some L-lysine! Super cheap at Walmart! It works wonders.

at cvs (and probably other drug stores) there are these canker sore patches i use and they get rid of the sores in less than a day!

My whole family gets cold sores. The best thing to do if you can't get a prescription medicine is buy a bottle of lysine. They sell it at pretty much any drug store, and take it as soon as you feel that itchiness when one is coming on (or even when it's already started to form)! It will be way smaller if it even pops up!
