Ovulation Test Strips - Worth it or not?

Question

I brought some basic ovulation test strips last week as I'm never really sure when I ovulate. I spoke to my doctor about them and they told me not to bother with them.

Have any of you ever used them to help?  Were they worth it?

The pack I had was only a pack of 5, and even though Glow tells me I'm in my fertile window, all the ovulation tests came back negative.

I just started tracking with OPKs last month and they have already helped tremendously. I had an idea of when my fertile window was due to ovulation symptoms, but it narrowed it down to very specific dates for me. Definitely take the above advice to order a larger pack...I have gotten 30 at a time so I have a little over a month's supply (I am trying to track very definitively so testing far more than I need to lol)

I have found them very useful! I used them with my first baby (helped me figure out I had low progesterone and a short phase between ovulation and the first day of my period), and had a good clue that I could be pregnant this time around bc I got a positive Lh reading the day after my husband and I had sex. It was the first ovulation test had taken and we weren't planning on really trying for a few months, but I wanted to see if my hormones had changed since the first baby. And they had. Good luck! Also I would agree get the cheap ones off Amazon!

Personally I haven't found them useful. I've only had one positive in 3 months, but I know I dis ovulate each month as I've been able to confirm it with bbt, cm and cp. Others may have diffeeenr opinions however.
