what age is to old to try to conceive?

I had always said if I wasnt a mom by 33 I would just give up trying i'm now two weeks away from turning 33 without any luck..💔😔 I can't help but think I'm getting too old to try to conceive should I just give up and concentrate on my husband's kids. I really wanted a child of my own but I don't see that happening anytime soon my husband is fine with us not having kids bc he has 5 from previous relationship but it's not the same as having your own child. So ladies what age do you think is too old to try to conceive should I keep trying or just give up?

I saw my doctor recently (unfortunately was there as I had a missed miscarriage with my first pregnancy) and I told her I was stressed about conceiving again due to my age (I'm 33 in a couple months). She said I am actually on the younger end of the scale of the pregnant women she sees in the surgery, she says there are loads of women well into their 40s having first babies. There was a medical student in as well who had just done a stint in the local maternity hospital and he agreed and said I would be one of the younger mums there. So don't fret too much :)

A good friend of mine just had her first naturally at 41. No matter what your age, when you are trying to conceive it should start with a visit to your Dr. I'm 31 and 8 months pregnant with my first and when I decided I wanted to start trying I went to my Dr. to get checked out.

You're not too old yet. Some women have kids in their 40's. And it's become the norm now to have kids in your 30's. Don't focus so much on the number - it all depends on your eggs.  Your dr may send you for AHM bloodwork and follicle count which will help measure this.  Perhaps it's time to go see an OB if you haven't yet.

Everyone is different but I'm 36 and ttc for 1st - 1 success (ectopic)in Dec but trying again now. There's still hope for you yet!

Hello LM! You are still young, I am 35 trying to have my first baby. I know it could be harder to get pregnant the longer we wait, but don't stop trying. Life has multiple seasons, and we experience life in a personal unique way, some girls have kids super young and that is fine, some of us on our 30's and that is our choice, and some rather to wait a few more years until they are 40 and it is completely fine. We have to do it when it feels right for us to do it. Baby dust you way and have fun in this new season of your life 😃

I agree with everyone about there not being a too old age. Not sure if others agree with me, but I'm always more impressed with older moms. Not only do I sometimes assume they fought adversity of society or fertility problems just to get pregnant, but it always seems their age helps them be more laid back in their parenting. It may be something I tell myself as I'm 33 myself, but I do believe it. :) You're not alone sister.

LM perhaps you should look around a few more of the chats - all women of different ages with different experiences to date! A lot of which are over 33! Be glad you've started trying now rather than writing yourself off already! Chin up and good luck 👍🏻

My mom had me at 33 and my sister at 36. I'm 30 and just now TTC for the first time. I never imagined having kids before 30 really.
