Did your SO attend your baby shower?

Question

I really want my boyfriend to go, but he doesn't want to. He doesn't really get along with my family, but not so much that there would be a scene. Also, I've really only met his mom and siblings, but invited all of this family, so I would like him to be there to reduce the awkwardness in that aspect.

Any advice on how I could convince him to come? Or at least come for a little bit?

My boyfriend was the same way so we compromised. He waited until it was time to open gifts and have dessert to come by so he wouldn't be bored with games and sitting for a long time with my family. Worked out well because he was happy and I got some pictures of us as well. Hope this helps!!

At my shower we did the typical stuff but after all that we had beer bong and other things for the guys.

If it's a girl/guy shower than he should come. If it isn't make it one.. invite a couple of his friends, brothers, Dads etc.. That's how we did our shower. I also had my husband hand and help me open gifts because all the bending made me start hurting a bit.

My boyfriend tried getting out of it and I didn't let him. We have only argued and got upset a handful of times in our 3 year relationship and that was one time. I think I was more worried about people asking where he was. I don't see why the dad wouldn't go. I still don't understand it. It never came to my mind for him not to come.

We made a point to have a coed (a jack and Jill) shower, so that uncles and brothers and significant others were all invited. It was so fun, and NONE of the guys had ever been to a baby shower, so we had lots to teach them. My mom even planned a few guys-only games to get them involved, like a blind folded diapering contest on a teddy bear! Super fun, and I liked it so much more having my hubby right there with me.

My husband has been there for both of our showers. His dad, family, and friends have all been invited. It's more of a celebration than a "girls" party. Honestly, I like it better co Ed and I love that he's been there... I love my family and friends but him and I are the ones that made this baby and I want him to enjoy everything that comes with it... besides, he's a great buffer when I'm feeling too hormonal to deal with people or whatever lol. Just tell him you want him to be part of his baby's celebration as well. There's nothing wrong with a coed shower or having your partner there

My husband didn't come to either of our wedding showers(one was hosted by his mom and I knew only 4 people there, but it was no big deal) or either of our baby showers(again, one was hosted by his mom).  I didn't think he'd want to be there, nor did he need to be.  I let him go have fun with his dad and brother(or my dad and brother) and it was probably better that way

Maybe he feels like it's only for women? Try to make it coed or if some of his friends are coming? I told my husband he has to come and he said ok;) so not much convincing there haha
