Coywolf: a new species?

Brigette
I just read an article and watched a clip about the coywolf, or eastern coyote, that they're calling a new species. It's a mix that's majority coyote, with about 1/4 wolf and 10% dog DNA. It sounded like they all have different amounts of the three species' DNA, so I'm wondering if you think this is something we can already call a new species or if it's still evolving as a species. Apparently people have also been concerned about their safety and the safety of their pets, in which case if we do want this new species, should we just leave it alone or should we (people in general) attempt to relocate the coywolves somewhere away from humans, even though they seem particularly adapted to city and suburban living?
And does this represent your understanding of evolution (whether or not you believe in it)?
