Will I miscarry from not taking prenatal vitamins

is it true you can miscarry from not taking parental vitamins! I'm waiting for my prescription ones! but I'm 9 weeks and I'm so scared that because I haven't taken them my baby is gonna miscarry:(

Prenatals are extremely important for your baby early in pregnancy as neural tube defects are a very real and life threatening thing. I have seen people have babies with severe neural tube defects and they spend ages in the hospital and have to go through a lot of surgeries. With my first pregnancy I didn't know I was pregnant until about 5 weeks and wasn't taking any prenatals until after I found out. My baby ended up having a very severe condition that involves lots of abnormalities and she was stillborn. Trust me, you want to do anything you can to have a healthy baby. Go buy some over the counter ones while you wait for your prescription. Like other people have also said, if you are deficient in things like calcium baby will take it from you which can lead you to have dental issues and bone issues in the long run. There is really no excuse not to take prenatals if you know you are pregnant.

Heck no!! They aren't even required. Years and years ago they never had them and women had perfect healthy babies. It's always the best to because it gives you extra, that you need because baby is talking outneverthing. Not taking them COULD make your teeth weak and Rot early or change color from calcium lost. I'm supposed to take mine daily but haven't in a few weeks and I'm mad at myself for not. But you need that folic acid! It helps baby grow and helps prevent issues with you and baby. But no, you should defiantly not miscarry.

They help you more than baby for the most part. Some prevent some defects like with folic acid, but most are just to make sure mom has enough. Baby will steal what it needs from you leaving you deficient.  Honestly a balanced diet makes them unnecessary, but that's hard in the first trimester.

If you're really worried just pick some cheap ones up at the store to tide you over until the prescription ones come in.
