Why You Shouldn't Feel Bad For Being "That" Mom...

Kenna • Christian. Wife. Mama.
My 5 1/2 month old has been in the hospital for 2 weeks now from parainfluenza and the stomach bug! Now can I 100% guarantee where/who she got the bug from? NO. But can I say that 3 days before she got admitted, I stepped into childrens church leaving my husband (who does not keep up on FB or know what's going on with a lot of people) in church with my daughter. And as soon as I left a grown woman, who not even a WEEK prior was in the hospital for the flu and the STOMACH BUG, her daughter and grandson having the stomach bug, and her husband, asked if she could hold her.... and of course my husband said it was ok. (Our church is so small like 25 people most sundays so we are close to everyone and she loves on Harper often previous to this situation)
I walked back into church after being away for 35 minutes and saw she was holding her and asked for her back. (I knew she had been in the hospital due to I was in the group text about praying for her!) I was furious.. not at my husband, but at her! Who thinks it's okay to be that close to anybody let alone a 5 months old, not even a week for being in the hospital for the flu & stomach bug??
My point being, be THAT Mom. Ask people to wash their hands. Know who you are letting love on your baby. Know who is, was, and around people are sick & be firm about keeping them away. Ask if they have been sick. Ask if anyone in there house is sick. Be THAT mom.
My daughter has had 3 IVs, 1 PICC line, a feeding tube, poked countless times, had to poop in a cup, bagged urine, high blood pressure, xrayed, ultrasounds, and 2 formula changes (one which is permanent) and her first Easter spent in the hospital all because she wanted to cuddle on my baby!
This "stomach bug" has broken her digestive system down so bad it has taken 3 peds doctors, 3 different specialist drs & 2 weeks to rebuild and we are still here and looking at a couple more days!
BE THAT MOM! This is something that could've possibly been completely avoided!
***YES I am aware she could've picked in up from anywhere. Yes I am aware the woman may have nothing to do with why we are here. Yes I am aware you can't keep them in a bubble, and no I don't plan too.***
****Added some pictures, some of there are outside in the hospital garden and since we are at a children's hospital they had a petting zoo here over the weekend. That's why we are outside surrounded by animals - lol. At least she got to enjoy that.****
