I've never put much thought into gender norms until I moved to the Midwest. Growing up, I was a tomboy but loved being a girl. I was obsessed with Justin Timberlake, I liked lip gloss, hip huggers and boys boys boys! But when I moved here, you hear everywhere that people aren't believers of gender norms until you tell a female to get out there and cut the grass! That's a big thing here! I hear all the time I shouldn't do it because it's a mans job just as well as taking the trash out. That's a big no no for me! I do it all and I embrace being a woman. Why, in your opinion, do people make exceptions for certain things and not others? Are they for or against gender norms? Most importantly, do you cut the grass, ladies? lol it's a stress reliever for me...
