is pineapple safe ?

I have heard two different things that it's safe and it's not due to causing miscarriage? Anyone know more on this?

With my first, we didn't find out what we were having. So I was looking up gender predictions based on food cravings. I was probably eating 1 whole pineapple every 2-3 days. Then I found out it could cause uterine cramping. Whoops.

Btw- I ended up having a girl, overdue. It didn't have any effect on me other than 💩 (tmi? Haha)

Answer

The enzyme in pineapple that causes uterine cramping only exists in the core of the pineapple. So unless you're eating copious amounts of the core you should be fine. I would know because I ate sooo much of this fruit (with the core) to try to go into labor on my own with baby #2 since I was over due but all that did was give me a canker sore and really bad heart burn 😂
