how young is too young to get a piercing?

I just saw this 12 year old boy with nose ring. Is this too young? Is it any different than girls getting their ears pierced?

I don't believe piercings should have an age if when it's ok. I got my first piercing at 3 months. My ears of course. Second at age 10, second holes in my ears. Third at 15, my belly. 16, my nose, then belly again (didn't work out so well either time plan to get it redone again soon) 17 my tongue. My baby sister got her ears pierced at 3 months as well. 8 her second hole on ears. 11 third holes. 12 industrial. 13 tongue. 14 nose, eyebrow, and belly. 15 daith. Brother got his tongue pierced at 15, only piercing he got. When I have kids they can get any piercings they want (no nipple, vagina, or penis until 18 if they want it) they can easily be taking out and healed. In my opinion, it's better than getting a tattoo before 18, tattoos are forever.

I don't think it's an issue. I'm not sure why it would cause a problem. I know a 12 year old girl who got her nose pierced. She's a great kid and just liked how it looked.
