Destroying History
New Orleans has begun the process of tearing down their 4 Confederate Monuments under police watch in the dark hours of Monday morning. The workers inspecting the Liberty monument (the first to be torn down) were seen wearing helmets and bullet proof vests.
It is said that the monuments are being preserved and being held until "an appropriate place to display them is determined".
When the colonists wanted to tear down British statues after the defeat of the British in the American Revolution, George Washington discouraged it, saying that those statues should remain as a reminder of what was fought for. To this day, those statues still stand.
