BCBS in NC covering IVF?

I'm a teacher in North Carolina and have BCBS... 80/20 plan. My husband has low morphology and motility... low testosterone and slight variocele probably contribute to it so he's now on Clomid. We have 2 failed IUIs and are curious about IVF. Anyone know if any of the costs for IVF will be covered with this insurance?

Hey there, I would definitely recommend that you contact your insurance directly to confirm available benefits. Especially if your coverage is through your employer. If so, BCBS of NC may just be acting as the administrator, and any coverage available to you would be specific to your plan/group, as selected by your employer. As a result, your policy benefits could vary from others covered by BCBS of NC. Regardless, you may want to look into winfertility.com. They offer discounts/packages/assistance/etc, whether or not your insurance plan covers infertility treatments. I work for an insurance company, and we often refer members to winfertility if don't have coverage, or have exhausted the benefits available to them. Good luck and baby dust!

Its best to call and ask them. Mine covers 4 rounds I think? But it doesn't cover everything.

I have BCBS thru KY and I live in TN (it's thru my hubs work) but my insurance doesn't cover IVF cost only testings

As far as I know Blue Cross only covers it when mandated to by law.

You may want to call your insurance because they can pull your policy and tell you yes or no...I have heard some insurances to cover it..but that may be the best try
