in the hospital at 34w1d (update(d) 2)
Last Monday (33w1d) my ob tech found that my amniotic fluids were borderline low. An ok level being this far along is a 5, I was 5.4 centimeters. They set me up for a appointment a week out to be rechecked and they were hoping the fluid levels would go up. Well, yesterday at my appointment (34w1d) I was remeasured and my amniotic fluid levels were at 3.69 centimeters. No bueno. My doctor had me go over to the the E.R for triage in L&D. My little girl got a steroid shot last night, more accurately I got one for her and will have another later today. I am on my 2nd bag of iv fluids. There hopes are that the iv will bring back up my amniotic fluids so we will get out of this danger zone. I'll be rechecked later this morning for my levels seeing as it is 4:45 a.m. They checked to make sure yesterday that I wasn't leaking or my water didn't break un-noticed so there is that too, water is in tact still and no idea where my levels are going.
~ I'm getting nervous that if my levels don't get back up past a 5 that they will be having my little girl come early. She has a marginally incised umbelical cord so there was always a chance something was going to go wrong, I just don't think this is what they imagend.
Update: I get to go home later this evening when I get the last steroid shot. That's good. Fluids went back up into the 5 zone, not the ideal zone but is safe to be in. Bedrest is what is seen for my future, at least over the next week. I will be rechecked again on Monday (35w1d) hoping fluids stay up and don't go back down again. If we do this back and forth they are saying we will be delivering early. Holding out till 37 weeks, which is the safe early zone and the normal one too. She has a great heartbeat and plenty of movement. Crossing fingers she stays in longer.
Update 2: back in the hospital again. Had a allergic reaction to the steroid shots for my daughter, plus that and the decreased fetal movements I thought it best to go to the er, turns out my amniotic fluids have dropped again over night.
