vitex- stop taking at ovulation OR after first trimester?

Question

I've read both methods for when to stop taking Vitex. I am only taking 800 mg a day, even though the bottle says 1200. I just ovulated yesterday at cycle day 40 or so. My last cycle was 85 days so I am happy. It could be from Vitex or acupuncture.

Just want to hear what other women did. I would rather stop taking Vitex now. Thinking of go to one pill a day until I test for pregnancy then slowly ween off from there. Thoughts?

My doctor told me to stop immediately at 5 1/2 weeks.

I've also read conflicting information! I've read to stop after O. I've read to stop after a positive pregnancy test. And I've read to stop after the first trimester. It's crazy how much conflicting information is out there!

After first trimester. It can take three months to get into your system. Once pregnant slowly wean yourself off.
