HELP: Bridal Shower Registry?

Question

We're registering for my bridal shower soon and I'm wondering what people actually register for? I haven't been to many bridal showers/weddings so I'm not sure how this works. We're registering at Target and Bed Bath and Beyond but do we register for like bed sets and random things? I know kitchen stuff is popular but that's about it. Is there anything you shouldn't put on a registry? Also, do we have a separate registry for the wedding? Help!

You can put just about anything you want on a registry whether it be household items or just fun things you both can do together, don't be afraid to put a lot on there in all different price ranges because people like options

One registry for showers/wedding.  People will most likely get you a gift for your shower, and then something for your wedding, depending on what they can afford.

Register for anything you want! We did kitchen stuff and serving dishes that we knew we would never buy ourselves. Also we did things like pots and pans and small appliances, a vacuum, towels, sheets, picture frames, blankets/throw pillows. 
Bathroom items (trash cans, toothbrush holder, soap dish, shower curtain)

I also know people who have registered for board games or entertainment items.

The more you have the better. You won't get everything, but options for guests are good. I also would recommend registering at Macy's (if there's one near you) instead of bed bath and beyond. Macy's always has sales, I've bought shower gifts for friends registered there and have saved more money than I have spent.

Really, it's anything that you want/need. Have fun even with the things you need! We have practical stuff on ours, and we have nerdy practical stuff. Dinosaur and R2-D2 oven mitts, a spice rack that looks like a chemistry set, periodic table blanket, a Harry Potter comforter.... and so on.
