can it be depression?

So all day I sit and think about my son and how this world is becoming more fragile everyday... I cry 😭 at nights begging God to keep me going for my son and to never take him away from me especially since there is so much going on now.. it all got into me by seeing all those children dying in Syria especially the father holding his dead twins... idk I hope I'm not falling into depression but all of this makes me sad because of my son.. he's a baby and they're defend less and all we have to do is protect them...
