To anyone who takes the medication RANITIDINE or INVEGA:
Hi guys. I'm writing this to inform anyone who has been on Invega, Risperdol/Risperdone, or the stomach med Ranitidine; for a while,
to go and get your prolactin levels checked IMMEDIATELY.
I've been taking Invega for three years or so, basically since it first came out. And then Ranitidine for a year.
I found out today that I have a prolactinoma CAUSED by these two medications.
A prolactinoma is a BRAIN TUMOR on the pituitary gland that secretes excess prolactin.
If you are experiencing headaches or leakage of the nipples while on these medicines, please go get checked
There is currently a class action lawsuit against the makers of Invega, but only for men who have grown breasts and/or have had leakage because of the medication.
I just wanted to post this here to warn people, since Invega is a relatively new medication, not all side effects are known yet.
