Has anyone been prescribed Fluoxetine/Prozac?

I've just been prescribed Fluoxetine to help my depression and wondered if anyone else has had any trouble with side effects? If so what were the worst ones?

Honestly Prozac was the medication I had the least issues with. I was put on 5-6+ different medications from eighth grade on before being put on Prozac and it was the only one I could function on. Medications are different for everyone so no experience is the same. The only side effect I noticed with Prozac is over time (6 months+) I started feeling more disconnected. I wasn't depressed or suicidal but it made it hard to really feel happy. It was like being in autopilot and zombie ish after awhile. It wasn't terrible, if I didn't have the therapy I had and I wasn't more confident in my ability to handle depression without meds I would have stayed on it, and I plan on asking for Prozac if I ever need it again especially since I have a high risk for postpartum. Again everyone is different biologically and will react different. Just be honest and assertive with your doctor and I'm sure they will work with you. If you ever need to talk to anyone let me know!

Im on fluxotine been on it for about 2 1/2 almost 3 months now 20mg so far no side effects other than it has helped me calm down my anxiety i can actually get things done around the house without feeling overwhelmed i can tend to both of my kids even when they are having meltdowns i was prescribed it at my 6 week check up after having my daughter for post partum anxiety/ depression my dr gave me a years worth of refills then im going to have my regular dr take over with filling them i take mine every night at 9pm since thats when both the kids go to sleep they are soon to be 4 yrs old in june and 19 weeks old

I hated it. Gave me phantom wisdom tooth pain

I took it for 3 years in my teens. It made me less anxious, however I developed an eating disorder, started self harming and started abusing pills. I ended up being addicted to drugs for 6 years.

So on the plus side, it made me less anxious and more talkative. I was able to be more social and less depressed.

On the negative side, I developed an eating disorder because of it and I read about it online and apparently that is a side effect of Prozac.

My OCD became worse during it too.

Hate all of the heavy meds the doctor gave me. I was hospitalized twice. Never took pills again and I'm doing better off without them.
