D&C???

Question

Almost 10 days PP and I'm back in the mother l/baby unit of the hospital for a long D&C tomorrow morning! Anyone ever have one? I'm a nervous wreck over this!!!!

Answer

I just had one a couple weeks ago (around 3 weeks PP) because it turns out a piece of the placenta was stuck inside of my uterus and we didn't realize until blood and softball sized clots were suddenly pouring out of me. That was not fun.

The actual D&C was not bad because I was asleep for it, not sure if people usually are awake or asleep for this procedure. But I really didn't even hurt afterwards, I felt way better.

I just had one this past Thursday right after giving birth. My placenta wouldn't come out so I was rushed to OR right after giving birth. They put me to sleep so I didn't feel anything. Very slight pain after once meds wore off, but motrin took care of that.
