Should new employees wear a different color uniform or badge?

At my early morning Starbucks run, I noticed there was a new girl at behind the counter. Naturally it was going to take her a little while to get the orders down and get the hang of it so I wasn't tripping. But I noticed the "energy" was way off in the line, and the person in front of me kinda lost his shit. Kinda made me think for 1 what an asshole it's too early for this, 2 OBVIOUSLY SHE IS NEW! 3. What if there was a pin, different color uniform, badge that showed the person was new to avoid people getting frustrated for nothing. I know some places have special shirts for special needs employees, so I personally don't think it'd be a bad idea for new employees.

No. It's already rough enough being new, I dont think we need a shirt to point it out. Won't stop people from being assholes

Maybe, but I think people who are just rude will be rude no matter what. You'll always have the "do I need to make it myself?" people. :/

We had "I'm new" pins at my one job but people still suck

I disagree with you. The Dunkin Donuts I worked at had "Hi! I'm training!" pins and they were the worst things to give to trainees. We had a lot of regular customers, and they would ignore the trainees for the employees they knew. If the familiar employee tried to let the trainee make the order, the customers would often refuse and insist the trainee only watch, which gives them zero experience on how to make things. They lost patience even faster when the trainees did get to make orders, or when they used the register. 
I agree with previous posters that people will be assholes no matter what. But to single out the trainees by making them wear something special? That makes their learning process even more difficult

At my retail job and movie theater job, my name tags indicated that I was new. Unfortunately, customers are still massive dicks and expect you to be a perfect being. Very rarely do I have customer that would acknowledge it.

I think it would be embarrassing to have to wear something different if I was a new employee! If people are having a fit that I'm not as fast as some of the people who have worked there for 2 years, I would just say sorry it's my first day and take my time.

Sheetz had them on name tags when I worked there. It helped a few customers but not all of them.
