Do women apologize too often?

I've been told that I use "sorry" as an intro sometimes.

In a meeting I had a question and I said "sorry I have a question".  Why not just say I have a question?  It's ridiculous.  We use the word sorry for random things.  I'm not sorry for my damn question, it was a good question.

Yes! I was in a meeting with a younger colleague on Friday, and while she was sharing her screen with me, she started an email for someone else to get a question answered. She immediately started off with "sorry to bug you, but..." and I had to stop her and say "why are you apologizing? You're just asking for help, there's nothing to apologize for". When I first started out, a colleague actually said something similar to me, so since then I've been more aware of the unnecessary times that I say "sorry".

I found in my experience they're the opposite lol. Bitchy and rude for the most part, like for example you compliment them and they're like 'err thanks but I'm not gay' in a 🙄 tone, like ok I didn't say you have to be gay I'm being nice. Or you accidentally walk into them and say sorry and they just scoff or don't say anything. There are nice girls don't get me wrong but the only girls that apologise often to me are my friends or on here when I post something sad.

It is a bad habit that I have. I am now trying to only say "sorry" when I mean it. And replace it with what I really mean "excuse me" when appropriate and especially not starting a sentence with "sorry".

I never apologize for anything since I try hard to do things right.  Im so used to being right that i can't remember the last time I did. I've had my Sister, mother, ex, and current so apologize for saying/ doing things that were wrong to me. Never felt so guilty of something that I had to go and apologize. Thats just me
