Activities to help boost language?

My baby boy is just a little over a year old and he seems to be doing pretty good with where he should be milestone wise. I really would like to help him start verbally using sounds or trying to make words other than ma! Haha Any activities to help? Or do you think it's too early to start working on language?

I carved out story time in our day-to-day. I'd pick a book for the week that we would read every day at the same time. Something simple but with a lot of pictures I can point at.

He sits on my lap, and as I read, I point out the object we're reading about. I'll say for example, "look, Zoe is playing with the ball!" I make sure I pronounce the words clearly and when I point at the ball, I sort of repeat it a few times. Then I'll tell him "give mommy finger" and he gives me his little finger and we point at the all together. After a few days of this, I said "show mommy ball" and he pointed right at, the next day he pointed at it and said ball.

He's 19 months now, and he says roughly 25 words.

Mine will be four in a couple months and he talks and talks-- it can get old sometimes as I'm around him all day. I love him endlessly but lord the boy talks so much. He loves to ask questions. And then ask questions about those questions. And on and on. 
We talked to both kids from the beginning as if they were older/ like talking to an adult. I have never treated mine like he didn't understand me. I do not baby talk ("Hims so sweet" etc), yes I use different voices and sounds but I always use correct grammar and tenses with my kids. 
I sing many times a day. They both love to sing or squeal along even though they don't know the words. My oldest particularly loved to hear singing as an infant.
I talk to them all day long. Any time I'm doing something like cooking, cleaning, putting a toy or piece of furniture together I detail my steps for him. If I was cutting a piece of fruit I would say what it was, whether it had seeds or not, what it felt like etc, and he ate it up both figuratively and literally. Showing him the food and naming it, letting him taste it, and repeating the name again really helped him learn the appropriate word. 
I did lots of "Can you say ___?" and it honestly felt like he was more encouraged to speak when he was being asked. He'd try really hard to say it, we'd get excited, he would say it again. 
he didn't talk much around a year old, though he made lots of noises and imitated sounds. By his second birthday he was speaking in full sentences. 
I'm doing all the same things now with the ten month old, and I see it working in her as well. She says mama, daddy, dog, brother (bubber), yeah, no, hey and byebye. Very excited to see her progress and how it parallels with her brother's.
