How large is your vocabulary?
As I sit here and read through what some of these wonderful and intelligent have written, more often than not I have to re-read it. Then to go to the dictionary. Read it again. Find an example online. Then find an 'ahh ha' moment. Since I've been on Glow the dictionary has been the most opened book I own.
Mind you, I don't believe I'm (what's a non ableist way to say dumb? I don't want to offend,) but I know I just simply don't have a broad vocabulary. I often find myself struggling to express what I'm trying to say when I know there's a word for it!
English isn't my first language, but I grew up in the US. I didn't finish University because I couldn't afford it. But, I still feel like I have a decently strong grasp on the English language.
How expansive is your vocabulary? Have you ever tried to find out? What do you do to consistently add to it?
P.s. Yes I know how to use context clues n all that jazz. I'm talking about the big'ens. Like Kay's words lol. And ffs, I wish Glow would let me put paragraphs in this mess!😡
