reading blood results?!

My RBC and MCHC are listed as high, and MCV as low. My doctor never called about these I just received this letter. Any one know what this could mean? My doctors office has a 45 minute wait time.

Just means you're anemic the. Online of your Red blood cells is low so the intake of your iron is low try to take vitamin C and vitamin D I'm severely anemic and has thalessia minor and have to take a lot of iron and foods with iron

While a low MCV value can indicate iron deficiency, or generally some type of anemia, the MCHC value would typically be low as well if this were the only case. Low MCV just means that your red blood cells are smaller than normal. High MCHC values are associated with cellular dehydration from cells being broken down prematurely by the spleen. Doing a bit of research, both low MCV and high MCHC could indicate a condition called Hereditary Spherocytosis. There are other tests that you dr can do to rule this out, so it could be something to bring up next time you see him. However, you may just simply have your run-of-the-mill anemia, and just need to supplement your diet :)
