So today this kid just opens his arms ( he's really tall) anyways and I guessed I just hugged him back ...

Does this me he likes me?

Or just friendly?

Anyways the things is we just were hugging more than 5 seconds and people started to look

I thought it was pretty cool because usually a boy wouldn't do that to a girl

But this kid I know he's really nice and smart !

A hug doesn't really translate into a guy liking you. I need more context to give you an educated guess. I hug my friends all the time. However, I heard that a hug that's about thirty seconds may be a sign of someone liking you. But I don't know how true that is. I need more of the story to even try to decipher his feelings, which even then i could be wrong. You could always ask him. But if it's just a hug you're going off of, it's way too unclear and way too small an action to translate to anything.
