I'm a wreck today...

39 weeks 5 days today... I've been ranting all over these boards about how done and how ready I am. Yesterday morning I went in to the midwives and had a stretch and sweep. I began shedding mucus and was uncomfortable and crampy all day. Last night around 11 I had a really strong and obvious contraction. Then 15 minutes later I had another one. This continued for over TWO HOURS!!! This is my third pregnancy and I was 100% sure that the time had finally come. The contractions were evenly spread apart, about 30 seconds each. And the entire time I had  persistent lower back and abdomen cramping. Halfway through I also passed the largest brown bit of mucus I've passed so far. Very thick and tinged. I was so sure that when I went to bed I put down towels and put my bags by the door so I'd be ready to go to the hospital. Finally managed to fall asleep between contractions at about 1:30 am... and then I woke up and it was 7.
