Formula and breast milk ?

Ladies ,
My son isn't latching well an I Strickly want to stay with only breast milk. I do pump and my milk supply isn't enough also😢 should I just do formula? 😢

I ended up doing both, every time I pump I only get 2 ounces if im lucky.  Which isn't enough for my chunky girl. In the beginning we had issues latching, I just kept at it and shes almost 3 weeks now and latches just fine. Wheb shes too frustrated with trying to latch I calm her down first and we try again.  That seemed to help both of us alot.

Don't be hard on your self though if you have to give some formula though.
 Or try to nurse more often and pump more. Have you looked into mothers milk or the fenugreek stuff to help increase supply ?

They have supplementing formula if you want to try to get your supply up. With my first I had production issues in the beginning, I found drinking 100 oz of water a day (I am over weight so it may be less for you), and one 32 oz Gatorade, one 8 oz glass of ovaltien in the morning and or at night would boost my supply by 2-4 oz per a session. The key to fluid intake is half your body weight. So I should have only drank 120 oz a day but I always added some extra. Also a beer before bed would do wonders to my supply.

My one twin had low sugars and wouldn't latch and when he did he would just fall asleep. We started giving formula supplements for him and my daughter until my mature milk had come in strong and was flowing! We are still weaning off the formula and they're 3 weeks old! Give up body time it'll produce! I didn't think I'd be able to breast feed two babies but sure enough my body knew what it was doing! Lots and lots of water, extra 300-500 calorie intake, oatmeal for breakfast, and some motherlove more milk plus pills and our twins are getting all the milk they need with little formula intake! Fed is best no matter how you do it as long as they are fed and healthy that's all that matters ❤️

How old is your LO?
I had that problem the first week, and I realized that my hydration had a lot to do with my milk supply, so I made sure I had water at all times. At about 1 1/2 weeks PP, I could pump 2-3 oz after feeding my daughter.

Also, if you can see a lactation consultant.  They can help with your issues.

Make sure you stay hydrated. Look up recipes for lactation cookies. Oatmeal helps boost your supply. Don't look to pumping to find out how much milk you produce. Not everyone's body responds well to a pump. Your babies weight and wet/dirty diapers let's you know how well you are doing. Don't question your body, mama. It knows what it is doing!

I have used this and it has been helping a lot. My Walmart didn't have it is stock and I had to have it shipped. But it is totally worth the wait.
