The aftermath of birth nobody talks about...
So I was due May 11th but my water broke on April 25th and I had my beautiful son 24 hours later on April 26 at 8:07am. The labour and delivery was awesome, no complications, dialated fairly quickly and pushed for about an hour and he arrived. I was so shocked and pleased as I was terrified to give birth. What happened afterwards was what I should have worried about. Had blood clots in my uterus that would not naturallyrelease and had doctors pushing and almost punching my stomach to get them out while also putting their hand right up there to pull them out. The pain was unreal! Then mybladder stopped working after the catheter came out and they only realized when I had 1000ml of urine in it when a full bladder usually only has 250. At that point the pain was so bad I couldnt even walk. I had to get another catheter without freezing and hope my bladder would work on its own 24hrs later. To top everything off I now have PUPPs which is a very uncomfortable and painful rash you can get during pregnancy or after delivery and its literally hell. I have been scratching to the bone... and it apparently can last for weeks... 🤧 I am so thankful for my little one and my safe labour and delivery but the aftermath has been hell and I had no idea any of these complications were even a thing. I hope you all have minimal complications after birth, taking care of your baby and getting used to a routine is more than enough.
